Type F
A straight probe with a long (12.5 mm) M5 thread. The stem is cylindrical and can be made from stainless steel, carbide, ceramic, or CFRP. These styli usually have three components: holder, stem, and ball. The holder and stem are monolithically made from stainless steel in a few cases.
